The magic of writing is, that it allows our imaginations to wander. It may have us searching for something more. Something more exciting, more joyous, more miraculous, more bountiful than any personal journey we have ever been on. But the real surprise has been that we also learn truths about ourselves, about our own lives, that somehow we hadn’t been able to see before. You may know what you want to say, but it’s frightening to put yourself out there in an honest and intimate way and say it.. Jessamyn West tells us, “Talent is helpful in writing, but guts are absolutely necessary.” We all have stories to share, that could resonate so deeply for someone, they could feel like their story too. They are all our stories, aren’t they? We are all branches on the same tree.
Doesn’t authenticity push us past our comfort zone? Isn’t it meant to? Consider that your buried treasure lies within you. What stories do you have to share?
