“The real moment of success is not the moment apparent to the crowd.”–George Bernard Shaw

A message from Sandy—When we were kids, we received report cards filled out by our teachers to tell our parents how we were doing in school. To become adults, there is a journey we have to take to  make the difficult transition from external judgement to internal acceptance. Are you  aware of the moment when you reached that success? In that moment, did you say to  yourself “I can do it” or ” I have done it?” Wasn’t it comforting to know that this internal acceptance can not be taken away by an external event? How did this internal success affect you? Did you find yourself less frequently comparing yourself to others? Did you now find yourself wanting others to have the same chances you’ve had to do what they truly love? Did you become more generous of spirit? What was one of your real moments of internal success?

Maya Angelou says, “I believe talent is like electricity, we don’t understand electricity. We use it. We can plug into it and light up a lamp, keep a heart pump going or light a cathedral. It makes no judgement. I think talent is like that.” Maya Angelou believes all of us are born with talent. She’s right.

What do you think are your talents? Are you using them in your work, your life right now? Are you following your bliss? What activity makes  the hours slip away, makes you lose track of the time?
