A message from Terry: A seamless flow: what a worthy goal for a high-functioning team!
No matter what curve balls the universe may throw at you, what emergencies you are called upon to handle, what unexpected scarcity of personnel or resources confront you, your team can handle it with style.
There will be some predictable bumps in the road between Here and There — new skill sets to develop and situations to debrief. Here are three golden abilities you and your team can nurture:
(1) Learn to ask for help — preferably BEFORE you are drowning.
(2) Learn how to say ‘no’ firmly but tactfully, without guilt or agitation.
(3) Learn to take ‘no’ for an answer without getting frustrated or resentful.
Accomplishing all three is no small trick — but the benefits you reap will be priceless!
