Encourage Yourself!

A message from Sandy. Encourage yourself with encouraging thoughts. Life is like a roller coaster, it can be exhilarating, scary, or sometimes you just want them to stop the ride because you have to throw up! When times are difficult may be the perfect time to stretch us, in a positive way and not crush us with discouragement. Here are some ideas of ways we can find encouragement:

Gratitude. This always helps. Think of what we have to be thankful for and whom in our lives we have to be thankful for.

Don’t dwell in the past. We can learn from it, but do you really want to live there? Today requires our attention, tomorrow our planning and foresight. “Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory.” —Albert Schweitzer

Find encouraging people. Isn’t great to be around someone who is encouraging? We’re all in the battle of our lives—we need encouragement. We need our biggest fan who has the heart to stand with us even when we need to be challenged or corrected.

Find encouraging places. Where do you love to go? Somewhere that is beautiful, rejuvenating, refreshing. A place that moves you forward.
