“Never Bend Your Head. Always Hold It High. Look The World Straight In The Face.” Helen Keller

A message from Sandy. I believe one of the most common wishes we all have it to simply feel more confident in various situations in our lives. But how?
“Nothing builds self-esteem and self-confidence like accomplishment.”–Thomas Carlyle
An important step would be to simply take action. Work on something and get it done. Taking action is not always that simple. Here are a few things to consider that might help: Be present , this may help snap you out of over thinking and just get started. Lighten up! One way to keep yourself from getting started is taking whatever you are about to do too seriously. This might make it feel to big, to difficult, to scary. Really, really want it. Taking action could become a natural thing, something you can’t wait to do.
Face your fears–we’ve all heard that one, but how, without your knees shaking and your stomach turning? Be curious.(that word keeps cropping up) If you are stuck in your fear you are closed up. When we are closed up we tend to create barriers between us and other things/people. If we could shift our perception, imagine how the world would just open up. Curiosity is filled with anticipation and enthusiasm, it opens you up. When you are open and enthusiastic you have more to think about than your fear. Consider that fear is based on us misjudging situations. We look for patterns, and may find negative or not so helpful patterns based on one or two experiences. Let’s face it–we’ll believe anything our thoughts tells us! Think how often our thoughts and our memory are inaccurate. Are you taking your thoughts to seriously? What fear have you recently overcome?
