THE PERFECT GIFT

A message from Terry: Next to our own home, the place where we spend the most time – day to week to month to year – is at the office. And, in a very real sense, our co-workers become our second family. From that point of view, why wouldn’t you want to make every effort to ensure that your home-away-from-home will be a place where you’re happy and proud to spend your time, and where you have a good on-going relationship with your work-siblings?
Like real siblings, you and your co-workers may have your differences, from time to time, but you are all part of a larger whole. The more stable and successful the office becomes, and the more clearly you contribute to that success, the greater your job security and job satisfaction become.
As the holidays approach, set aside a little time to think about what gift from you would have the strongest positive effect on the practice and how it runs. It won’t cost you a dime. But, like all the best gifts, it should come from the heart.
- What project might benefit from a little more of your time and attention?
- What spot of office friction could you ease?
- What little task always seems to fall through the cracks, with no one willing to step up and take responsibility for seeing it through?
These are questions that only you can answer. And the gift is one that only you can give. But that’s only fair. After all, you’ll be right there to reap the benefits, as well – day by week by month by year.
