View Yourself In A Positive Light

take time for yourself A message from Sandy. I’m pretty sure that the most gorgeous people in the world have doubts about their appearance. Perhaps it’s human nature to worry about what we look like, but worrying about what we look like just brings unhappiness into our lives. I might be happy with the finished product when I walk out the door, but it sometimes takes a lot of work and over-analyzing to get there. Obsessing over it never brings us joy.

Take time for yourself. Your body is the only one you have. Take time to pamper yourself, get some quality time alone. Take a bath, take a vacation—–whatever it takes to rejuvenate your body and your mind. You deserve it!

Understand your needs. What do you really need? What makes your body happy? Eating healthy foods, getting plenty of rest………what is your body asking for? The better your body feels, the better you will feel about it.

Vacate your mind. Sometimes we become prisoners in our own minds, we start obsessing over our looks to the point that is not healthy. Free yourself of these thoughts!

Watch what you say. Do you say to your friends, “this dress makes me look fat”? If so, think about it…………….the more negative things you say about yourself, the more you will start to believe it. Try, just once, saying “Wow, I look great!”

X-ray your desires. Think about it—really think about it–why do you want that piece of chocolate cake, or new handbag? Will these external things make you feel better? You bet! (but it is only temporary) Lasting happiness comes from within, so give it some thought.

Yank yourself out of your routine. Routines can be deadly. They set us in patterns that feel old and tired, pretty soon we start to feel old and tired. Some routines are necessary, but how about taking a look at the routines in your life that aren’t? What can you do to change them, to make them a more positive experience?

Zap negative thoughts. Getting rid of negative thoughts about yourself and your body is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.

Remember what you look like is NOT who you are. You are more than your appearance. If you want to be happy with your appearance–you can be. Happiness is a state of mind—it’s possible, but it’s entirely up to you!
