Do You Know Where Your Sense Of Humor Is?

A message from Sandy. Not only is a sense of humor required for an enjoyable existence, but life itself seems to be nuanced with what appears to be a series of tasteless practical jokes.(on us!) There are numerous examples of this, what follows is only some of the absurdities that plague my mind.

Ignorance is bliss, and intelligence is stress.

We idolize celebrities, while brilliant minds enjoy only a a brief yawn worthy mention.

The food that appeals to us the most, makes us unhealthy.

We spend the sunniest part of the day stuck in our offices.

We save and save and save and then retire when we no longer have the energy to enjoy it.

We have hair thinning on tops of our heads, and growing out of the strangest places.

No matter how hard we work, we go unpaid for 4 months of every year to pay our government representatives, while they squander our money.

Our heart skips a beat when a police car is following us, why  is our first response more likely to feel intimidated rather than protected?

The flow of money is typically in the hands of those that need it the least.

Youth is wasted on the young.

Life can sometimes be a joke, and often a tasteless one. Many people work in jobs they never wanted, with people they wouldn’t otherwise spend  time with, in homes they may not be able to afford, and neighbors they could live without.(or have never even met) On some level our circumstances can be similar, but the enjoyment we derive from life comes down to our perspective. You can be miserable, or have some fun along the way.

I find that no other quality is as effective for coping, as a sense of humor. If you have it, relish in it. If you don’t maybe it’s time to look deep and find it. If somehow you came to the conclusion that you need to be dead serious to be a respected adult, my wish for you is that you will soon wake from your disillusionment. Our time here is limited, so try to enjoy it. #*%^ happens—so have a giggle!
