Take A Risk

take a risk A message from Sandy. More words of wisdom from the book Failing Forward, by John Maxwell.

In life there are no safe places or risk-free activities. Helen Keller, author, and advocate for disabled persons, stated ” Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

Everything in life brings risk. It’s true that you risk failure if you try something bold because you might miss it. But you also risk failure if you stand still and don’t try anything new. G.K. Chesterton wrote, “I do not believe in a fate that falls on men however they act, but I do believe in a fate that falls on them unless they act.” The less you venture out, the greater your risk of failure. Ironically, the more your risk failure–and actually fail–the greater your chances for success.

Are you willing to take a risk–even fail–to have a daring adventure?
