Finding What’s Really Important This Holiday Season

A message from Sandy. The last few weeks how many of us have heard people complaining (ourselves included) that we are stressed out, running at full throttle, in a panic over the impending (or apparent) doom over the holidays. If you allow your logic to take over, you will start to wonder about the level of stress that attaches itself to a “season of love.” Do you ever wonder what makes us experience stress and increased anxiety when we are here to enjoy the company of our loved ones? Is it too far fetched to think that every human would prefer to relax?
Perhaps it is time to consider sitting back in your most comfortable and favorite spot, with some holiday candles burning, a sip of a warm beverage nearby while drafting some letters to your favorite humans.
Perhaps this is the year you will determine it is better to give of your time and your heart. Instead of mall skating think about writing lovely notes of personal admiration and respect to those handful of friends and loved ones that will truly appreciate the effort. If at all possible, this would be the time, to mend any damaged fences and bridges, and make a greater effort not to take for granted any of your friendships in the coming year.
As you sit in your easy chair, breathe in the scent of the holidays, and feel yourself relax into the season. Isn’t peace and serenity the real feeling that the holidays are meant to bring about?
